Who is Baseball Resource? Baseball Resource is Matt Slaven, I am the founder of BaseballResource.com. After running the Gahr High School baseball website way back in 1997, I thought to myself that Southern California needed it's own website just for baseball.

My experience comes from coaching since the age of 16 years old. At 17 I won the District 29 Championship as a manager for Frontier Little League, the same kids we faced in the finals were the same Cypress Little League that went to the Little League World Series.

In 1989 I joined the US Army and coached baseball in Germany with the military brats, great experience. Shortly after getting out of the military in 1994 I went back to Cerritos and coached a Senior Major team. I would then eventually wind up at Gahr High School as the Frosh baseball coach, since then I have coached for American Legion and Mickey Mantle teams.

Coaching took a big part of my 'Family Time', so I had to make a decision on which came first. If you ever want to commit yourself to doing something, do it right. That's what you will get from this website, the best of Southern California baseball.

If there were something you would like to see here, let me know. My users have made this site what it is today, it has gone from 30 hits a day way back in November 2000 when it was first started to over 450 hits a day. All because the baseball community spreads the word about what Baseball Resource has to offer. Have a great baseball season.
