Grich pulls the right strings at the right time

Rancho Trabuco showed it's depth in the seventh inning as they ran away with what was a close game by the score of 8-0 in first round of the Pony Region Tournament at York Park in the city of Whittier.

Chris Schafer stood his ground for 6 innings while he struck out seven batter in six innings he pitched and gave up only three hits and two runs for East Valley Rockies. East Valley Rockies are probably the only team in the tournament that are the lone representative from their league. They have no other teams to pool from they are it. You couldn't tell the difference early on as the battle of the two teams continued early on in the game.

Head Coach for Rancho Trabuco is Bobby Grich (former California Angels), his knowledge of the game paid dividends throughout the game as Rancho Trabuco used four different pitchers to shutout the East Valley Rockies. Rancho Trabuco's defense was spectacular as they were able to get a great jump on every fly ball hit. Especially left fielder Trevor McCalla of Rancho Trabuco who robbed East Valley Rockies of some great hits.

Special Note: Nick Heustenberg and Brandon McHenry each had two hits for the Rockies. Ryan Loy had two hits and Taylor Frazier had three walks with two stolen bases for Rancho Trabuco. Baseball Resource will try to keep everyone updated on the web on the tournament scheduling. In order to do this I am trying to work with the Tournament director sending me scores and scheduling. Updates are made in the evenings and early morning hours. Remember to let the kids decide the game between the lines, best of luck to everyone.
